Joe Feather Golf Day 2011
The day started looking very bleak. Wind and rain were forecast, and unfortunately arrived about 30 minutes before play began. Never the less all of the golfers put on their wet weather gear and got stuck in! With the help of many of the Wike Ridge ladies, lots of money was raised through the raffle and the 'beat the pro' competition held on the 11th tee on the Wike Ridge course at Leeds Golf Centre, in which players challenged Joe to use their club to try and better their effort. The day ended up being a great success with lots of money being raised for Joe's expenses and for the Captains charities, final figures will be announced shortly but they are way more than expected so thank you all! A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the Joe Feather Golf Day Fundraiser, thank you for initially entering, participating and braving the weather! Despite some wind and rain it was a great success with £4,800 raised for RNLI and Candlelighters and for Joe's tour expenses. So thank you everyone for their sunny disposition on the day, it really made it!
