Joe here!
Thanks for checking in, hopefully you’ve heard good things about the team and I at Leeds Golf Centre, and, as always, we would love to do our best to help you with your game. Here’s a little background about me, and how I’ve come to be the Academy Director and Head PGA Professional at Leeds Golf Centre.
I picked up the game aged 10, and though I definitely wasn’t a child prodigy I absolutely fell in love with the game, and found great joy in the processes of improvement across all areas of the game. I turned professional aged 20, and though my sights were set on being a tour professional, I was completing my PGA training at the same time. Aged 27, in 2013, I decided that my full time playing career was at an end, due to string of back injuries not allowing me to gather any form, or climb high enough in the rankings to get into the level of events I wanted to play in. And so decided to focus on coaching, and become the best coach I possible can be.
This decision was the best one I ever made. I had already built a nice client base of people I coached when I wasn’t away at tournaments, and to be able to focus my energy on their game’s needs, was a catalyst for me falling in love all over again!
10 years later here we are! I’m lucky enough to have a wonderful client base, coaching at arguably the best all round facility in the north. Further to my PGA qualifications, I am now a senior certified Leadbetter instructor, level 2 Trackman instructor, and have developed programs for golfers of all experience and ability levels to flourish in the game. I now lead a team of 7 brilliant coaches, who all work together as a close knit team, to drive the academy towards helping golfers of all ages and all backgrounds towards their own personal goals!
